ABOUT: L.A. theater as social dialogue...in order to bridge the diverse communities of Los Angeles with theater that speaks to our daily lives, needtheater produces performances that bring about social dialogue and expand the role of theater in society.
needtheater’s Production History includes Horse Country by CJ Hopkins (“A torrent…of artistry” –LA Weekly, 2006), the original physical-theater piece LaLaLa (performed at REDCAT, EdgeFest, and the A+D Museum), and Birdy by Naomi Wallace (“Excellent…grabs you by the throat.” –LA Weekly, 2007). needtheater is currently producing a series of pieces about war. needtheater is also a proud member of the National Independent Theater Collective (NITC), which provides independent theatre artists with access to larger audiences across the country through touring productions.
