ABOUT: Owner Mario Melendez designed the club to accommodate a wide range of high caliber performing arts programming featuring a movable bar, a transformable stage and an advanced sound and lighting system. King King always has an eclectic array of talent in the club and Angelenos love it.
Musically, Melendez’s club offers a state-of-the-art sound system comparable to any studio sound stage in Hollywood. A range of musical talents cross the stage each month and many house music, electronica/techno, Cuban jazz and alternative rock bands favor King King as a favorite venue when in town.
The powerful and sensual L’effleur des Sens, featuring nine professionally trained dancers, resumes its bi-monthly Thursdays run at the King King tonight. There is nothing in Los Angeles like this French cabaret show that is diverse in form, music and mood. From intricate aerial acts to mixed media music and dance numbers to an audience participation sequence, dancer and renowned choreographer Cati Jean’s L’effleur has been a must see since its premiere two years ago.
