The A. D. Players, founded in 1967 by Jeannette Clift George, pioneered a unique style of theater committed to producing plays and programs that uphold human value, offer creativity, and promote literacy and education. From a small group of part-time actors, the company has increased in size to one of Houston's largest resident theaters, impacting more than nine million people.
Jeannette Clift George, founder and Artistic Director of the A. D. Players continues to represent the Houston community by lecturing extensively throughout the United States. She is a renowned author, director, actress and Golden Globe nominee
Grace Theater, 2710 W. Alabama
Annually serving more than 40,000, the A. D. Players offer five professional
mainstage productions per season. From critically acclaimed classics to
Jeannette Clift George originals, audiences are entertained, inspired
and enlightened.
Children's Theater, 3471 Westheimer
Houston's first year-round children's theater offers audiences of all
ages the excitement of live theater. Yearly, more than 25,000 children
and families are stimulated by shows that enhance the imagination, promote
self-esteem, and teach valuable life lessons.
Theater Arts Academy, 2613 Saint St.
According to a UCLA study, exposing children to theater programs at an
early age helps them excel "50% more academically and personally"
compared to non-participants. The Theater Arts Academy trains artists
of all ages uniquely offering specific programming for inner city youth
and children at risk.
National Touring Company, 2613 Saint St.
Performing to over 70,000 people per year, the National Touring Company
presents the highest quality in educational and faith-based productions.
Professional Internship
Interns train and participate in various aspects of professional theater.
