Pacific Serenades presents Circle of Blue featuring a world premiere string quartet by Billy Childs, the 2-time Grammy award winning composer, arranger and jazz pianist. This exciting world premiere will be presented alongside chamber works by Ravel and Mozart, creating the perfect blend of music, new and old.
Billy Childs is rapidly becoming one of the most in demand composers, arrangers and pianists in jazz. In February 2006 he was the recipient of two Grammy awards: one for Best Instrumental Composition (for "Into The Light" from his 2005 release "Lyric") and the other for Best Arrangement Accompanying a Vocalist (for Chris Botti and Sting). In addition to the latter, in 2006 Childs was nominated for two other Grammy awards: "Best Instrumental Album" and "Best Instrumental Arrangement."
Their are only 2 dates for this world premiere performance. One is to be held at The Neighborhood Church of Pasadena and the other at The UCLA Faculty Center Don't miss out.
