WEDNESDAY APRIL 15, 2009

Sean Healy Presents MIMS, taking the stage at the Key Club in Hollywood with the smash single "This Is Why I'm Hot." It makes a certain amount of sense that the cut -- a skeletal, braggadocio club track that gives head nods to classic NYC rap, Midwest Hip-Hop, the Southern rap scene and the Hyphy Movement - has become so popular in clubs.

MIMS' brand of melodic, accessible flows and sincere lyricism is putting A Stamp into Hip Hop's consciousness. Though much has been said about the critical state of NYC Hip Hop, MIMS represents an artist who doesn't mind going outside of his comfort zones to not only seek to get Hip Hop back in love with the city that gave birth to it all, but most of all, to get the rap world back in love with itself by opening up the minds of MC's with something more to say. Also Performing: B-Shel, Lady Luck, Lyrical Feinz, Iconic, J Mo, Alkatraz.
