The Summer Season is heating up in Houston with two great dance companies set to open new shows in the coming week. Houston Metropolitan Dance Company presents Mixing it Up, an evening of jazz and contemporary works Friday, May 1, 2009 at 8 p.m. in the Cullen Theater at the Wortham Center. Houston Met brings their technical mastery and fluid movement to a diverse program created by renowned choreographers Nina Buisson; Joe Celej; Brock Clawson; Peter Chu; Kiesha Lalama-White; Kiki Lucas; Patti Obey; and Jhon Stronks.

Dominic Walsh Dance Theater presents the much-anticipated Houston premiere of Walsh's Mozart Trilogy - a unique collaboration with Sarasota Ballet of Florida. The Trilogy features Wolfgang for Webb performed by Sarasota Ballet, Amadeus for Anita performed by DWDT, and the new Mozart performed by both companies. With stunning scenic design by Houston artist Libbie Masterson and distinctive costumes by Domenico Luciano, The Trilogy will transport you to a timeless netherworld.
