Houston Ballet is pleased to introduce Masters of Movement. Three important works, in repertoire, of masterful works by master choreographers.

The Leaves are Fading (1975) is a lyrical study in wistful dreaminess by famed English choreographer Antony Tudor. The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude (1996) is all Forsythe, a sexy and energetic work that fully lives up to its name. Jiri Kylian's Soldiers' Mass (1980) is a poignant commentary on the destruction and devastation of war. This is a program not to be missed.

All three works are Houston Ballet Premieres.

 

A Lesson Before Dying
HCC Theatre One : Houston
"Why, I would just as soon put a hog in the electric chair as this." That's the defense strategy offered for an uneducated young black man, falsely accused of murder and sentenced to die. When his family recruits a college educated man, a teacher to talk to the doomed prisoner and help him face his death with dignity, the two develop a friendship that transforms their lives.
