The Dallas Black Dance Theatre announces their season opening performance of Dancing Beyond Borders performance at Ft. Worth’s Scott Theatre this weekend. The dancers of Dallas Black Dance Theatre will take you through a convergence of contemporary choreography offering something for everyone. This intimate performance will bring art and audience together, making the performance up close and personal for all who attend. This dance performance will incorporate elegance, humor, innovation and Tchaikovsky with the performance of Smoke choreographed by Bruce Wood and in•ter•pret choreographed by Hope Boykin. “After working with the dancers from Dallas Black Dance Theatre for a while I noticed that they all have their own personal elegance; and as a company, they have a great sense of humor. I decided to take those two elements and put them in a dance for them to inhabit and for you to enjoy,” explains Bruce Wood of Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s performance of his 2001 commission.
