Campus Theatre's Lil' Abner is straight from Al Capp's classic comic strip, bringing the residents of Dogpatch, USA to singing, dancing life. It is the mid 20th century, but modern life has not managed to touch the "most unnecessary place in the whole USA," so the government decides it is perfect for nuclear testing. After all, the local hero is a Confederate, General Jubilation T. Cornpone, who is known to have been so incompetent that he is declared a hero for the Republic.

Can the shiftless hillbillys find anything necessary in their little part of the world? Will Mammy Yokum's Yokumberry Tonic save Dogpatch? And who will win the hand of the lovely Daisy Mae? This Denton Community Theatre foot-tappin', side-splitting musical comedy is being directed by Sean Frith, with musical direction by Ray Staniszewski and choreography by TerryNan Davis.
