A Tony Award winning team puts six adolescent hopefuls at the mike for the most important chance of their lives - a chance to stand out and fit in by winning the spelling bee championship. The Broadway hit, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, began as non-musical entertainment devised by an improvisational troupe: improvisation remains embedded in its hugely entertaining format, adorned with the musical's brilliant score sung by delightfully offbeat characters.
